It’s so cute it’s heartbreaking..
A vintage French striped shirt.
The chest pocket is embroidered with "RU".
The stripe pattern is just so lovely. It includes a color that looks like a purplish-pink.
The collar and cuffs are reinforced with a faded light blue fabric.
It features Dorset buttons—I can't get over how cute they are.
It looks adorable whether worn open or closed, and the cropped length with a generous width creates an unexpectedly modern silhouette that’s easy to wear.
Along with the pink work shirt I released at the same time, this is a little vintage piece I’ve grown very fond of.
I got this from a shop owner in the Czech Republic;
she’s a lady who loves buying vintage items while traveling, and she purchased this in France a long time ago.
The exact era is unknown, but it seems quite old. It’s certainly from the 1960s or earlier.
Given the reverse side of the fabric and the design, I wondered if it might be a sleeping shirt, but the details remain unclear. It would have been so cute if there were matching bottoms too!
Regardless, it’s one of those pieces that makes you want to keep it just for the sheer joy of ownership. haha
