An animal hallmark indicating manufacture prior to 1962 is stamped along one of the links rather than on the clasp. You can see it in the last photo.
While I have dated it to the 60s as I cannot specify the exact year, it is highly likely to be from the 50s or earlier.
It is possible that only the clasp has been replaced, but it matches the tone of the piece perfectly without compromising its aesthetic, and also bears a silver hallmark.
