A very old French cotton chambray shirt coat/dress.
A women's work shirt dress made during the same era as atelier coats.
Unlike an atelier coat, it features a dress pattern with a slight waist definition,
but it is equally lovely worn open like a shirt coat.
You can also tie it loosely at the waist with the belt sewn onto the left hip.
And above all else.

It’s a cotton that is thin yet sturdy. This is the amazing quality of very old French cotton that is still ready to be worn and worn.
It is lighter than a shop coat, with the weight of a shirt.
For reference, it is very similar to the chambray dress I released previously.
I wish France had made jackets and shirts out of this fabric too, not just coats! (Haha)
That is how rare this fabric is outside of this type of work dress.
The glossy black glass buttons are original. Only one sleeve cuff has been replaced with a plastic work button.
One theory suggests that glass buttons were produced in France until the 1920s and were only used on workwear until around the 1940s.
In any case, there is no doubt that it is very old. Haha. Since there are no details to definitively identify the era, it would just be a guess, so I will not list a date.
In any case, old French clothing is just truly cool.
