A thick green suede leather coat.
An anonymous piece of casual winter wear from East Germany in the 70s-80s.
It is a women's garment with a simple pattern like a work coat,
and while it feels a bit too simple for women's clothing of that era,
I believe that unique East German simplicity makes it a vintage coat that can be worn in a modern way.
The deep green suede is beautifully colored, and the leather quality is excellent; it is thick and heavy, yet soft.
It features a full lining made of a glossy viscose material, making it comfortable to wear.
The sleeves are slightly raglan-cut, preventing the shoulders from looking bulky and creating a clean, elongated silhouette.
Its ease of wear, free from the stiffness often felt with older leather, is what makes it so appealing.
It has good heat retention; I was starting to work up a bit of a sweat just shooting photos indoors.
It works perfectly as a winter outer layer over a base layer and a knit or cut-and-sew top.
While it looks great worn simply and elegantly, I have a feeling it would pair well with all sorts of things: colorful pants, dresses, tracksuits, sportswear, or tech-wear. Highly recommended.
