Guild pants, a type of traditional German workwear.
They feature two distinctive zippers running down the front. They are often called logger pants because they are worn by lumberjacks, but
it seems they are called guild pants when referring to the ones traditionally worn by construction workers and stonemasons in Germany. (I learned this for the first time!)
I love this unique design, but this is the first time I've ever encountered a pair in such a compact size.
Since they are clothes for large-bodied craftsmen, they are usually baggy,
so I was really excited to find a pair of loggers that I or other women could wear for the first time.
It's a simply cool, one-of-a-kind design that you won't find anywhere else, and I'm happy that it's all black, too.
The material is also interesting—it's a fabric called "double twisted pilot" that I've never encountered before.
At first glance, the texture is so similar that I thought it was moleskin; it's a thick, cotton material with a slight brushed feel, but
strictly speaking, as the name suggests, it uses double-twisted yarn, making the fabric even more durable.
It feels firmer and slightly thicker than moleskin.
Because it's a high-density fabric, it's very warm and perfect for this time of year.
The knee patches are made of Cordura®, a nylon famous for its high quality. It's a tough material often used for bags and the like!
The zippers are also sturdy and move smoothly; I'm amazed by the quality of every single detail and material.
The manufacturer, Oyster, is famous for guild wear and seems to be a brand committed to using high-quality materials and manufacturing in Europe.
I ended up including a lot of niche information while researching, but these are simply cool, highly recommended pants.)))
