My second time encountering a San Marco chain.
It’s an elegant, cool style that I absolutely love.
This is a thicker, larger type with a wonderful plumpness and excellent balance when worn on the wrist.
The Italian living in Germany who sold it to me this time called it a "macaroni chain!" I have to admit, it really does look like one (lol).
The San Marco chain is said to have originated in Venice, Italy, in the 15th century,
and I've heard it was inspired by a certain bridge,
but could it have actually come from the wobbly macaroni served at the dinner table...?
Either way, it’s a silver chain imbued with the spirit of Italy.
This particular "Marco" has a finish that looks like it was hand-brushed, giving it a slightly matte luster. It's very sophisticated.
It is quite thick and substantial, much more so than it appears in the photos. It makes a fantastic impact when worn.
