A handmade knit coat of superb quality.
It’s more of a coat than a cardigan.
It is made of a fairly thick, tightly-knit wool, and is fully lined with a drape-y viscose lining that extends all the way through the sleeves.
The warm-toned knit, a mix of vermilion and orange, features a charming, bumpy, textured design.
Moreover, it is fully patterned all the way across the back, creating a beautiful all-over design.
The person who made this must have been incredibly skilled at knitting. She was truly a master.
The back of the collar, for instance, has a level of quality that even major brands couldn't replicate.
Based on the buttons and other details, it appears to be a handmade piece from around the 1980s.
It has a nice, substantial weight to it and is a warm knit outer layer that is perfectly suitable for winter.
In the photos, I am wearing a thin cut-and-sew top and an undershirt, but there was plenty of room to layer more, provided it isn't too thick.
This is a rare find of a knit coat, and I highly recommend it.
