A lovely handmade blouse I adore, made in 1987.
I found it at a flea market in Paris,
and that's what the man selling it—who was also its maker—told me, haha.
It’s just amazing that he could remember the year so precisely,
and for some reason, that specific year "1987" really stuck in my head, haha.
I don’t know if it holds a particular memory for him,
but regardless, it is such a brilliant, tasteful handmade blouse!
Beyond the quintessential French fluffy, flared ruffled gathers
and the beautiful puff sleeve silhouette,
it's packed with irresistible details down to the very last point, like the black ribbon lace trim, the bead-shaped ornaments, and the front lace-up.
I especially love this bead pattern; it’s totally my style. It's tucked away on both the front and back, so please take a look.
The fabric is a crisp, deep navy cotton.
As you can see from the actual width, it’s quite large,
crafted much like a French vintage shirt,
so you can easily layer it over moderately thick knits or turtlenecks.
It’s so important to have a solid layering piece to wear under your winter coat!
