It’s incredibly simple and cool. Sooo elegant.
It tickles my fancy that it doesn't scream "HERMES!" at first glance.
I wonder if that dense pattern of tiny squares is a type of guilloche work?
You can see the fine craftsmanship of each mark being hammered in by tool.
This was also sourced from my usual jeweler in Paris.
It bears the angular Hermes logo often seen on vintage Hermes silver,
as well as a French silversmith’s hallmark and the Minerva mark.
Still, a money clip in this day and age.
In an era where most stores take card payments,
and you can even shop just by carrying your phone.
Reiwa-era kids probably wouldn't even know what it’s for at first sight—
a clip just for holding bills! Yes, that is! MONEY! CLIP!
It's a self-indulgent little item for a select few adults, completely out of step with the times.
Even knowing that, I love it as an object, so I can't help but buy them.
