This jacket is seriously cool, and the construction is impressive in many ways.
It is a manufacturer established in 1920 in a town in northern Italy by an Italian mountaineer.
It seems they were originally a manufacturer of woolen yarns, but they launched an outdoor brand mainly focused on authentic mountaineering wear starting in '54.
It is a fantastic brand that provides products to the Italian military, rescue teams, and alpine ski teams.
Actually, I only learned these detailed facts after purchasing this piece, but my gut reaction when I first encountered it was, "This looks like something serious." lol
The way the pockets are attached and the positioning of the ventilation are unusual, the hood is light blue (and detachable), and above all, the fabric is amazing.
The "Diolen" on the inner tag is something you occasionally see on coats from the 70s or 80s that use high-quality fabric—it's not nylon, but it feels like it would repel water.
Personally, while I see it throughout Europe, I have the impression that it's common on items from France and Italy.
This particular piece is a blend of 35% cotton and 65% polyester.
Designed for the outdoors, the fabric is incredibly tough, high-quality, durable, and soft.
It's very comfortable to wear. It has a nice hand feel and is high-density. Truly excellent material.
The front has a double zipper, which is extremely helpful for a garment of this length, and I just generally love double zippers. lol
The zips on the outer side of both sleeves likely serve as ventilation.

The body has 12 pockets, and there is one with a zip inside.
The large pocket that runs from both sides of the hem to the back is connected, creating a single space. It’s like a hunting jacket’s game pocket.

The zips move very smoothly, and there are no missing parts. I’m really happy about that.
As for the size, it’s about a men's XL.
It’s 1 or 2 degrees here in Prague today; it’s not warm, but I wasn't cold.
It’s a size that allows for layering underneath, and I think it would also have a great silhouette worn over just a T-shirt in the spring.
European outdoor gear is cool...
I especially like that this manufacturer isn't something you see everyone else wearing.
