There is a subtle difference in thickness, and this is the thinner one.

We previously stocked the bracelet version, which features the same angular, edgy Byzantine design.
It is densely packed and heavy, with thick silver links, giving it a substantial feel.
It feels as though the Byzantine chain was assembled and then hammered on all four sides to flatten it.
Rather than a loose, dangling chain, it is supple like a real snake,
a powerful necklace with a distinct sense of integrity.
Because it is so densely constructed, it has a satisfying weight and presence.
Also, while both Byzantine pieces this time are made in Italy,
the design of the hook has that elegant quality unique to Italian silver, which is wonderful.
The solemn pattern that emerges from the meticulously assembled parts
reminds many of Chrome Hearts,
but this is one of the world's oldest forms of chainmail, produced across various countries for many years.
It is still being produced today, but I personally prefer the vintage texture,
with its fine scratches and dark tarnish from oxidation, over brand-new, shimmering silver.
