We are restocking two of these cubic-style Byzantine chains that I found in Germany.

There is a subtle difference in thickness, and this is the thicker of the two.

For comparison, I have included photos of both worn by men and women.

We previously carried the bracelet version; it’s a Byzantine chain with a sharp, edgy, square-cut feel.

The links are tightly packed and heavy, with thick silver wire, giving it a substantial, well-built presence.

It feels as if the Byzantine chain was woven and then hammered flat on all four sides.

Rather than a loose, dangling chain, this is a strong, powerful necklace that feels supple, almost like a real snake.

Because of the dense construction, it has a satisfying weight and a commanding presence.

While both Byzantine chains this time are Italian-made,

the hook design has an elegance unique to Italian silver that is truly wonderful.

With its majestic pattern emerging from intricately assembled parts,

many people might associate it with Chrome Hearts,

but this is one of the world's oldest chainmails, crafted across many countries over a long period.

It is still being made today, but I personally prefer the vintage aesthetic with its fine scratches

and the dark tarnishing from oxidation over brand-new, gleaming silver.
