1980s Italian Denim Chore Jacket

So cool.

On a personal note, I’ve been searching for a denim chore coat for years, and just when I’d almost given up, I came across this one on my last buying trip.

It’s made in Italy, which I think is quite rare.

I’ve been sourcing goods across mainland Europe for many years, and these just don't turn up.

Plus, the condition is outstanding, and the color is deep and rich. It’s ready to be broken in now.

The sizing is great, too—it’s perfect.

When it comes to denim, European items often fall short of American brands in terms of fading and weight, but this particular piece is high quality across the board!

And, while this might sound like a weak sales pitch, it just has a certain "something" about the way it feels.

Personally, I value this intuition above all else. I think this applies to any industry, but when you work as a professional in a specific field, there are moments when you stop seeing things with fresh eyes—in vintage, for example, thinking that a chore coat has to be really old to be good.

But in reality, that's not true at all. The age doesn't matter as much as the individual character of the item. This chore coat is from around the 80s, and to be honest, statistically speaking, older chore coats usually have much cooler fading and character—by a long shot, haha.

But as I mentioned, I bought this one because it just has that "something."

Plus, it happens to fit my current mood.

The indigo texture and color are great, and I think it’s going to look incredible once it’s been worn in and starts to fade.
