I fell in love with the buckle's cool design at first sight. Everything about it is stunning—not just the shape, but the patterns and the bold engravings as well.
The combination with the brown leather is truly sophisticated; the leather is smooth and firm, exuding an elegance that is quintessentially French.
The brand isn't actually that old; it is a jewelry house founded in 2000 by Marc Deloche, a versatile figure who is both a jewelry designer and an architect, following his diverse career path.
The design of this buckle, much like his other work, shows an architectural, almost furniture-like approach. I absolutely love it.
While he does work with gold and gemstones, I deeply resonate with his core philosophy of primarily using sterling silver.
This model is still currently sold by Marc Deloche,
but this specific piece has a bit more character than a brand-new item, with the leather and silver showing deeper signs of aging. It looks like it will only get cooler with use.
It appears this brand was never widely distributed in Japan,
and it is always a joy to discover wonderful brands, people, and objects that I didn't know about through vintage finds.
