From one of my favorite eras, the late 90s to early 2000s.
Featuring a two-tone design with brown nylon and khaki polyester, this piece is quintessentially Girbaud in its playful use of materials. I also love how, beyond just being a Y2K trend item, it’s simply cool.
With side cargo pockets and waist pockets, it offers plenty of storage. One side features the reflector tag that was iconic to this era.
The waist is about 28 inches, making it a great unisex option.
It is unlined but made of a sturdy material, so it's warm enough for the current season and can be worn year-round.
While there were many clothes in the early 2000s that used such sporty materials and featured designs with many pockets and zips,
I’m reminded again that Girbaud stands out for the quality of their materials and the sophistication of their design—I just love them.
Lastly, Marithé + François Girbaud has become so popular that it’s become truly difficult to source.
We’ve always loved them and want to keep them in stock, but it’s tough. I suppose it’s understandable—everyone thinks they’re cool, after all. Haha.
The price has inevitably gone up when looking only at the Japanese yen, but compared to vintage shops and archive stores in Europe, I think we have it priced quite reasonably.
I feel like they are really disappearing day by day, so please get it while you can. I believe these are clothes you can wear for a lifetime, regardless of trends or age.
