60s vintage Montagut black top

A highly recommended black cut-and-sew from the 60s.

It is a nylon knit from the historic French brand Montagut.

Montagut developed a nylon fabric called "Fil Lumiere."

Its appeal, including a silk-like smoothness, resistance to friction, and a luster that reflects light,

led to its rapid spread across France following its development in 1962.

With its smooth, silky texture and a quick-drying, iron-free fabric,

it is commonly seen in men's summer polo shirts from the 70s onwards,

but this is an early 60s piece, featuring an even thicker, more resilient, and higher-quality fabric.

While it may appear sheer in the product photos due to the mesh, it is densely knitted,

so it is almost completely opaque when worn, and the color of your undergarments won't be an issue.

However, you will notice a loose, comfortable fit when wearing it,

providing excellent comfort that allows airflow even on hot days.

The snug, tight ribbing at the neck also shows off its high elasticity. It's incredible that this garment is 60 years old. Haha.

It is in fantastic condition with absolutely no damage or fraying to the fabric.

As mentioned, it is a silk-like, quick-drying knit,

so you will truly want to wear it every day in the coming season. It's a perfect companion.
