It has a faux-fur, slightly textured appearance, but the material is actually 100% cotton with a print; it’s a beautiful fabric with the same depth and shading as real fur.
Since it's cotton, it's soft yet durable, and it’s significantly easier to wear compared to real fur.
The lining is satin viscose, so you can slip it on easily over wool or knits during this season.
Actually, I bought this piece about seven years ago when I first visited Amsterdam.
It was an unforgettable trip—the one where my husband first took me to Europe, and I became so captivated by its charm that we made a promise to live there someday. In a way, it was the catalyst for the start of TOTO.
I still vividly remember everything about it: the layout of the vintage shop where I found it, the shop assistant's hairstyle, the feeling of my hands trembling as I took it to the register, and even the view of the street as I walked out of the store.
At the time, I felt it was a bit ahead of its time, haha, but I figured "this is the moment!" and recently brought it back from Japan.
PAUW is a historic fashion house and select shop opened by a couple shortly after the war.
It seems they were the first in the Netherlands to carry now-legendary designer brands like Comme des Garçons, and their original PAUW items are also very cool. They still have an online store, so please take a look.
"PAUW" is the couple's last name, but apparently it also means "peacock" in Dutch, which makes the embroidery on the tag seem even more charming.
