Founded in 1981 in Sheffield, England, this is an authentic outdoor brand. Since the founder was a climber himself, they seem to place a huge emphasis on two processes: knowing what is actually needed and understanding the purpose of the gear.
I shot photos and tried it on for the first time in a while, and it really is incredibly light and warm. Not only that, it looks amazing from every angle.
There's a drawcord at the hem, so it's great to cinch it tight, and I really appreciate how the front pocket is dual-layered with one zippered section, making it very functional.
Small functional details like this are so important in outerwear.
It's as warm as a Patagonia Das Parka, and the shape is top-notch too.
Both pieces this time use a nylon material called Pertex. It's a high-performance nylon from the UK that is exceptionally lightweight, windproof, and water-repellent.
Both jackets have been well-loved by their previous owners; while there is some expected wear, they are in relatively good condition and still have plenty of life left. The zippers move smoothly, and they are perfect for town use.
Man, these are truly great down jackets.
