1997 RAF AIRCREW JACKET MK3

The MK3 is a jacket that was issued to British military helicopter crews.

I’m so happy to have been able to stock these for the first time since I moved here. Haha.

I’ve always loved this classic jacket. Whenever I see a friend wearing one or someone on the street in one, I always think, "Man, that looks cool." Haha.

Getting a bit side-tracked there,

This particular piece was made in 1997. I remember seeing a 70s-era MK3 a long time ago, so I did a little research to remind myself what the jacket was all about. It seems it was a model adopted from the 60s until 2010, and this one is the late-production version.

Generally speaking, the buttons and zippers were changed to plastic, the utility pocket on the sleeve is padded, and the color is slightly different—a deeper olive.

The material is a very high-density cotton gabardine.

The silhouette is impeccably cool, but the fabric itself is just truly excellent.

Regarding this late-production model, I personally love how modern the combination of the button/zipper material and the fabric feels. Of course, the vintage versions have an atmosphere that this later model lacks, but I think that’s the main selling point of this particular piece.

As noted on the tag, it is a jacket intended for COLD WEATHER, so please rest assured. It’s not heavy at all and feels great.

The lining is made of the same fabric as the outer shell.

The condition is also great, and I highly recommend it.
