What is this? I've never seen anything like it before.

A rubber half-zip smock from the German military. It’s just too cool. Lol

No matter how much I research, I can't find any details. Lol

However, there's no doubt that it’s extremely rare. What I’ve managed to find is that the text on this tag says "GRUBE HAGUMA Gmbh," which seems to have been a rubber product manufacturing company that existed in Germany from 1950 to 1974. So, digging into the information, the tag, fabric, and zipper indicate that it is a German military item from around the 1960s!

Going even deeper, it seems the parent company was founded in 1882, and after several name changes, it became this "GRUBE HAGUMA Gmbh." That’s history for you.

My hunch, based on years of experience, is that the grey color and the specific way it’s stained suggest it might be for submarine or mechanic use. I can’t say for certain, but I think that’s not far off.

Regardless, it’s a rare, and frankly perfect, piece of clothing. Lol
