It appears to have originally been grey denim or something similar, and the previous owner added a silver coating—or perhaps foiling—afterwards.
The uneven texture, with some areas coated heavily and others sparsely, looks fantastic. I’ve washed it once, and the coating held up perfectly without peeling off.
It has the definitive shape and details of Levi's 501s, and based on the cut-off quality tag, it is a pair of pants from the 2000s or later.
The waist is around 30-31 inches, and I recommend it as a unisex piece.
