South African avant-garde batik dress.
When I tried it on, I was shocked at how cute it is!!
It features a bottom cut into an oval shape using plenty of fabric,
and the way the legs peek out from the deep center slit creates a nice look.
There is also a drawstring inside at the waist;
if you leave it untied, it drapes like a voluminous dress/poncho,
but when tied, it defines the waist, giving it an exquisite jumpsuit-like silhouette.
It really is wonderful.
Looking at the tag, it was designed in Cape Town, South Africa,
and the fabric is labeled as Dutch-made JAVA print fabric.
As far as I can tell, I haven't seen a dress with a design like this. lol
The mysterious journey it took before I found it in Germany is also interesting.
Regardless, it is a lovely piece of batik. Highly recommended.
