A jacket from C.P.'s Spring/Summer '96 launch.
It looks like a simple jacket, but at first glance, nope, nope, nope.
You'd think it's a high-density nylon fabric, but surprisingly, it's cotton-linen. I was like, "What is this fabric?" and I still am. Haha.
C.P. and Stone Island are endlessly fascinating!!
It's been garment-dyed, which gives it this faded-like color; it's truly an exquisite shade, and it's also interesting how it looks slightly different depending on how the light hits it.
It's a common swing top, yet there's something different about it. It’s a shame you can’t pick it up, touch it, and put it on, but once you wear it, it’s an instant KO. Haha.
The sizing and silhouette are perfect.
Romeo Gigli, the designer who took over after Massimo's departure, also makes cool clothes.
I stocked a short-sleeved open-collar shirt from him last summer, and that was also superb.
As I write every time, I personally love that C.P. has absolutely zero brand posturing.
It’s thoroughly normcore, or rather, it’s urban.
It's a world that only the wearer or those in the know can understand, but even for people who don't know it, it's a wonderful brand that makes them go, "What is that jacket? It's so cool."
I wear it often, so I’m frequently asked about it by friends I haven't seen in a while.
It’s a great moment when we go, "Oh, you get it! It's understated but so cool, right!" Haha.
This jacket is very much in style right now; I highly recommend it.
