This is the jacket from the series that really made me fall in love with Stone Island.
It's called Formula Steel, made from a high-density, tough nylon canvas fabric bonded with a transparent polyurethane film on the inside.
I actually stocked a piece from the 1994 launch in the same fabric a little while ago, so please take a look at that one if you'd like. You'll find yourself wanting it in no time. Haha.

I personally rotate through three pieces from this series myself; they are just so incredibly light and easy to wear that once you put one on, you'll definitely find yourself wearing it again the next day.
They're that comfortable—I call them my best friends. Haha.
The pieces released for AW come with a liner, but since this one is an SS launch, it's just the shell. It has a boxy silhouette with a very wide body and a shorter length.
It can be worn in both spring and autumn/winter—the sizing is perfect.
The wide body and not-too-long length make for a truly great fit.
And personally, this is the first time I've ever come across this Formula version with an integrated hood. Since many of them are detachable, I thought it was plausible, but it’s a first for me.
Above all, I want it for myself. Haha.
The hood design is wonderful, and the shape is just excellent.
It’s large and functional—a truly perfect size that isn't too big.
The condition is also wonderfully good. This series is genuinely meant to be worn hard, which is exactly why they are often found with various flaws.
As I mentioned before, this is the clothing that made me fall in love with Stone Island personally. Actually, right after I moved here four years ago, I bought this Formula Steel jacket for myself, and as I continued to wear it for a while, I really started to get into the brand, thinking, "This brand is incredible!" Haha.
How should I put it? It's just so easy to wear (not to mention how cool it looks) and it's tough—really tough.
It’s perfectly fine even if you’re caught in heavy rain, it’s great for a night out, and of course, you can layer underneath it, so I find myself wearing it all the time—even to watch soccer in the winter. Haha.
I truly love this series from the bottom of my heart. Haha.
I’ve digressed a bit, but because I wear mine so hard, I often find that the pieces I come across during buying trips have flaws in their condition.
This one is in really good shape; the only part I really need to note is that some of the stitching on the front hem has come undone. (Please see the very last photo.)
But it’s not a problem at all! Please forgive me for such a minor issue.
I've rambled on, but it's a fantastic piece, so please consider it.
Just be warned: once you buy a piece from this series, you will definitely want more. Haha.
