This is by far the heaviest piece I have ever come across, sourced during my recent trip to Paris.
First, please take a look at the photos. In addition to the thick, complex Byzantine chain,
the intricate rope detailing wrapped around the S-hook,
and all the other fine details are crafted with a high level of technical skill.
Above all—and this is the difficult part about selling online, as photos can't capture it—it is incredibly heavy.
It weighs in at a staggering 130g. It’s not heavy enough to cause neck strain, but you will definitely feel its substantial weight.
Even the largest Byzantine chains I've encountered before were around 60g, so I hope you can understand just how extraordinary this piece is.
In the world of silver, where value is determined gram by gram, this weight alone adds significant value,

Because of the majestic patterns emerging from the meticulously assembled parts,
many people might be reminded of Chrome Hearts,
but this is one of the world's oldest forms of chainmail, produced across many countries over a long period.
While they are still being made today, I personally prefer the vintage aesthetic
with its fine scratches and darkened oxidation over the bright shine of new silver.
