Tibetan silver metal skull chain bracelet.
A chain consisting of intricately linked skulls. I counted 70 of them! Haha.
Skulls are apparently used as charms to ward off evil or as lucky items to wear,
and Tibetan jewelry is quite rare in Europe.
A dealer contacted me thinking I might like it, so I acquired two of them. They are the same size.
As a note of caution, the clasp is engraved with "足銀" (pure silver), which is supposed to mean high-purity silver, but these are not made of pure silver. Why would they engrave that!
They are made of what is known as nickel silver—the alloy we usually handle as "metal"—
which is a very sturdy and common material for jewelry, so please rest assured.
As you continue to wear it, it will darken; please enjoy the tarnished silver look. Since it contains a small amount of silver, it will regain some of its silver luster if polished.
The clasp is a type that clicks into place. This style is the same for real silver and can become loose over time, but you can make it fit tightly again by gently pulling the V-shaped part of the insert piece to widen it slightly.
I thought the engraving was a bit misleading, but I love the design. I hope you enjoy it as a fashion piece!
