Large Turkish vintage kilim rug.
Wow, this is truly lovely.
It’s been so many years since I’ve had a rug of this size. It’s been a really long time.
I’ve always hoped that if I ever opened a shop, I’d be able to feature large carpets again, so I’m very happy.
I fell in love with this rug at first sight and bought it back when I was in Germany.
I was completely won over by the pixel-art style floral motifs and the muted emerald green color.
Yes, I just love this hazy emerald green—that uneven, antique look it has.
And the contrast with the super vibrant shocking pink and yellow is just incredible.
I generally associated old rugs with the classical colors and intricate patterns of Persian carpets, so
a bold, colorful, and vivid design like this felt so fresh to us! It’s such a cute, pop, and unique piece.
Since I’m not a rug expert, I asked around among specialists and friends,
and while it’s just a guess, they said it’s likely from Turkey.
They mentioned that the floral motifs and the style of the weaving and dyeing are typical of Turkish craftsmanship.
I’ve done a lot of research myself, but the history of rugs is so deep that I apologize for not being able to provide definitive information.
However, there is no doubt that it is an old, valuable, and carefully handmade item, so
if you love the look and atmosphere of it, I highly recommend it.
It’s perfect for a spacious home or living room, but personally, I’d also love to recommend it to shop owners.
A single rug can completely change the atmosphere of a room and bring a breath of fresh air to the space.
Of course, as always, the price includes shipping from the Czech Republic. Although it’s a kilim, it’s quite massive and heavy enough that it’s difficult to carry alone. A man might just barely be able to manage it!
