A coverall with a very cool checkered pattern.
I believe it is a vintage Czechoslovakian prisoner uniform, likely from the 50s or 60s.
Based on the interior tag, I initially thought it was workwear, but a dealer told me it is likely a prisoner uniform.
Given the two waist pockets and the simple construction, I personally feel that is the case as well.
The fact that they aren't on the front but slightly to the sides is another point that makes me think so.
Regardless, it is a very rare piece. It is my first time seeing one.
I honestly don't know the full details, but it is certainly unusual.
The material is a lovely, supple cotton. It is soft with a texture similar to a sweatshirt.
It has a wide fit and is very easy to wear.
This is a truly unique vintage item and an ideal piece of clothing for fashion.
