Black leather ankle boots sourced in France.
With their characteristically French narrow width and a snug, lace-up design,
these two wonderful vintage boots offer a sharp, sophisticated look.
While the maker and design differ slightly, both are in the golden size 38 for women;
this pair is a cap-toe boot with a beautiful leather-wrapped heel counter.
I believe they were likely both worn interchangeably by the same previous owner.
Although they resemble the antique Victorian boots I personally wanted so much,
the buttons and heels are different, which piqued my curiosity and led me to research them.
It seems this was a common style for men's boots during the Edwardian era.
There is a 1902 advertisement featuring something very similar, so please take a look.
A vintage piece that incorporates a dapper men's style in women's sizing.
I am not certain of the exact age, but I believe they are from around the 80s or 90s.
Since they aren't true antiques, they are easy to wear in daily life.
The wear on the soles shows they were well-cared for, and there is no hardening of the leather.
The interior is lined with soft leather, making them so comfortable that I almost want to wear them every single day,
but it would be wise to avoid wearing them on days with long walks, rough terrain, or rain.
I also highly recommend getting them resoled to ensure you can enjoy them for even longer!
It isn't very expensive, so please feel free to consult a shoe repair shop.

The model typically wears a 24.5-25cm and found these to be a perfect fit when wearing standard-weight socks.
Even with feet that are quite a bit wider than average, there was no discomfort. Thanks to the previous owner wearing them nicely and relatively often, the leather is supple and easy to break in.
