The only glassware I brought back from France this time.
A set consisting of an antique hand-painted glass decanter and six shot glasses.
The delicate and beautiful 70s-80s hand-painted designs feature
vibrant botanical illustrations over a white checkered background.
Each small glass is crafted with the same level of care,
and the thick, rounded glass bases are truly adorable.
Perhaps because it's from France, the decanter has a plump, pear-like shape.
The stopper is also iconic. How lovely!
There is absolutely no paint peeling and the glass shines brilliantly,
suggesting this is likely deadstock that was never used.
While there are some very minor chips from storage or production, they are negligible.
It’s a regal-style decanter set that lets you keep whiskey ready for a drink at any time,
which is actually a common form of hospitality in Europe.
I occasionally see these in Czechia or Germany, but
I’ve never seen hand-painting as professional and beautiful as this.
I can't wait to use it when I have guests over. Haha.

*I have washed these twice. Please do not use a dishwasher; wash gently with dish soap and a soft sponge.

Decanter: Opening diameter 2cm, Height 14.5cm (18.2cm with stopper), Base diameter 9cm
Glass: Rim diameter 5.7cm, Height 6.2cm, Base diameter 3cm
Condition: Deadstock. There are three very minor chips on the glasses, but they do not affect use. Please see the last three photos. The white haze on the bottom of the pot is limescale, which is inevitably contained in European water; it is harmless to the human body, but please fill it with water and rinse it before use.
