It's spring. It's been a while since I introduced a smoking jacket.
This one is from around the 60s or 70s, in great condition, with a calm, brown-toned check pattern.
It's made of soft wool, with a spring-appropriate weight—thicker than a shirt but thinner than a jacket.
As the name suggests, a smoking jacket is a jacket worn while smoking.
It has a long history, becoming popular in 19th-century Britain as a gown that
English gentlemen would slip on while relaxing and smoking at home.
It's a piece of clothing I love for its unique atmosphere that you won't find in other jackets or gowns.
It’s formal yet relaxed. Plus, it's incredibly comfortable to wear.
Its trademarks are the mellow-looking shawl collar and tasseled belt,
making it a gown you’ll be hooked on once you put it on.
The size is easy for anyone to wear, provided they aren't of a large build, so
I’d love for both men and women to wear it.
