First off, this jacket is incredibly cool.
I've only ever handled two Valentino items before—perhaps I just haven't been lucky enough to come across many—but I'd never been deeply impressed by them. This piece, however, really drew me in.
It's hard to explain, but the construction is just superb.
Starting with the fabric: it has a crisp, dry texture and makes a sound when you move. It's thin, but very high density. It's 90% cotton and 10% polyurethane.
Ah, I see. No wonder I thought it was Stone Island at first. Haha.
I bought this in France last year, and when I first touched it and took a quick look, I thought, "Is this Stone Island from the 80s or 90s?" but when I checked the label, it was Valentino. It reminded me once again how truly interesting Italian vintage from this era is, which got me excited—and then when I tried it on, it looked insanely good. Haha.
That’s how I felt the moment I bought it. Haha.
The four pockets on the front are large and easy to use, and there’s one zippered pocket on the inside.
The waist can be cinched down tightly with a drawcord, and you can wear the collar popped up. It also has a stowaway hood. Please check the photos.
It’s very lightweight, and since the body width is quite generous, you can layer heavily underneath in winter; I really love jackets like this.
It's a shame you can't touch it, but the fabric is, above all else, fantastic.
Once it arrives and you get your hands on it, I'm sure you'll go, "Whoa."
The color is military green. Even the lining is cool, with no details overlooked.
The fact that there’s no branding at all is also very cool.
I highly recommend this Valentino piece.
